On the 17th of May, from 6pm to 9pm, Voxfire Gallery â located at Aberdeen Street in the heart of the city of Hong Kong, held the VIP opening party to press and perspective buyers. A crowd of roughly 30 people showed up and enjoyed a glass of champagne and nibbles as they perused through the gallery looking at the fantastic array of skateboard art. Also showcased in the exhibition were the two commissioned pieces for skullcandy headphones, pieces created by Peter Yuill (a beautiful display of colors on a set of skullcandy headphones) and NOMATTSLAND (a sculpture created from clay, wire and two skullcandy headphones).
On the eve of the 18th of May, Voxfire Gallery opened the space for the official public opening party, serving white and red wine, beer, energy drinks, chips and specially-made vodka gummy bears. A crowd of over 100 people showed up throughout the night, filling the small gallery to the point of overflowing and out onto the streets. It was an eclectic mix of art lovers, from restaurant owners, lawyers, fellow artists, corporate heads, and celebrities. A wonderful time had by all, it was definitely a night to remember. Curators Christian Keith and Matt Bailey were exhausted by the end of the night as were the owners and assistants of Voxfire Gallery. A job well done by all. The show now runs until the 23rd of June. - KOBO
